English
English 7 will stress writing skills, paragraph development and essay types. Students will write in narrative and expository styles. Grammar study will stress application toward writing tasks. Students will use vocabulary study to improve writing.

- Sentence variety and complex sentence usage

Literature
Students will study of Literature including selected great books as common reading including The Old Man and the Sea, To Kill a Mockingbird and Romeo & Juliet.

- Short Stories
- Understanding of genres and elements of literature: plot, setting, conflict, themes.
Religion
The program is devoted to the study of God’s saving love as it is revealed through His Son, Jesus. Young adolescents grow in their knowledge of Jesus, that they may love Him more ardently and serve Him more generously.

The art program will encompass all five standards building on each with different grade level expectations (using age appropriate vocabulary).
